GENCAD is a UK Registered Charity founded in 2004.The Charity aims to mitigate the enormous social and economic deprivation communities in the Horn of Africa are facing by:
- working in partnerships with local
communities, government agencies and other
development organizations
- raising funds needed to achieve the
organization's objectives
- providing oversight and accountability for
funds raised and allocated for specific
projects and monitor its impact on the
recipient communities
The focus of GENCAD is on education, health, poverty alleviation programs and community empowerment and advocacy.
GENCAD will:
On Education
- identify and disseminate good practice models
in secondary and primary schools in our area
of operation in order to improve the standards
of education
- collect, store and disseminate information
beneficial to education practitioners,
researchers and policy makers working in the
Horn of Africa in general and our area of
operation in particular
- improve the standard of facilities in schools
in partnership with other stakeholders such as
parents and the community leaders
- sponsor needy students in secondary schools in
general and girls in particular to pursue
their education
- establish links between schools in the UK and
Northern Kenya to enhance international
understanding and share ideas on areas of
mutual interest
- promote adult literacy programs at the
grassroots by providing support to local
community organizations (CBOs).
